An HGV medical is needed by: |

•Drivers who are making their first application for a license to drive a vehicle weighing over 3.5 tonnes or a public service vehicle with more than 8 seats;
•Anyone renewing their PSV/LGV entitlement aged 45 or over;
•Anyone aged 45 or over will have to renew their licence 5 yearly, then annually after the age of 65.
What to expect:
Paperwork will be completed through questioning. You will be examined to check eyes, neuro, cardiorespiratory and abdominal systems. Urine will be analysed.
You will be weighed and measured.
If any problems are found, you will be given a letter to take to your own registered GP.

•Identification forms - current driving licence and recent utility bill
•Ask for a specimen pot at reception + produce a fresh sample of urine
•Be sure to bring your glasses if needed (or might be needed) for driving
•Bring any medication currently taken
Please note the most common reason for failing a test is on eyesight. It may be worth having an examination with an optician first to avoid a re-test fee.
